The TURAN ensemble’s lecture-concert took place in Astana

The TURAN ensemble held its next lecture-concert at the R. Baglanova State Concert Organization “Qazaqconcert”.

"Our audience had been eagerly anticipating this concert, we greatly missed our fans as well. It was a special evening, full of humor, warmth, and heartfelt emotions," the ensemble members shared.

During the concert, the ensemble made an exciting announcement to their fans — they introduced their newly launched official website. The site will now serve as a hub for the ensemble's history, future plans, albums, and news updates.

Additionally, a surprise appearance was made by Serik Nurmolda, a TURAN member who had moved to Azerbaijan for work. His unexpected entrance delighted the audience, and he introduced Aslan Gumarov, who had been temporarily filling in for him. At the end of the concert, the full ensemble and the new member performed the composition "Er Turan" together.

Among the concert attendees was Geoff Gersh, an American musician who, for the past two years, has been learning about Kazakh traditional music and mastering the dombra. He shared his thoughts on the concert:

“Today's concert was amazing. I'm from America, New York. I've been following the ensemble on Instagram for two years. I also play the dombra myself. I came to the concert with my dombra teacher. To be honest, I was deeply impressed by the performance and the musicians' mastery of their instruments. What I liked the most was the final piece, 'Er Turan.' It was my first time attending their concert and I loved everything. It was an unforgettable experience,” said Geoff.

Meanwhile, Mehdi Mhatli from France shared that this is his second time attending the ensemble’s concert.

“I attended TURAN’s concert last year in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today, I was fortunate enough to see the ensemble's performance here, in their homeland. Listening to TURAN’s music not only evokes intense emotions, but it also introduces you to the history of the nomadic peoples of Turan. I am particularly fond of their throat-singing and my favorite instruments are the saz-like string instruments, similar to the dombra. I first encountered and fell in love with the sound of saz instruments in Turkiye, so, to be honest, today’s experience was truly special,” shared the listener from France.
