Ensemble 'TURAN' as a Phenomenon of Turkic Musical Culture

We invite you to participate in the International Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the creative work of the ethno-folklore ensemble "TURAN" — a musical brand of the Turkic peoples and an ambassador of Turkic culture.
The main topics of the conference include:
1.The contribution of the ensemble "TURAN" to the development of Kazakhstani musical art and pedagogy;
2.The connection between the creative work of the ensemble "TURAN" and contemporary theater, cinema, choreography, national attire, and management;
3.A new format: the role of modern ethno-folklore ensembles in shaping and transforming national identity;
4.The place of the ensemble "TURAN" in the panorama of modern Turkic music and intercultural interaction;
5.The development of ethno-folklore groups and ethnic musical instruments.
We invite scholars, educators, graduate students, doctoral candidates, and students to participate in the conference.
Conference format: online and offline (the Zoom link will be published on the official social media pages of the ensemble "TURAN" on Instagram and Facebook).
Forms of participation: Presentations and video material demonstrations (10 minutes).

Requirements for article formatting

Main guidelines

●Articles are accepted in Kazakh, Turkish, Russian, English, and other Turkic languages.
●The length of the article should be up to 6-7 pages of printed text.
●The article must be prepared in Doc format, using the Times New Roman font, with a line spacing of 1, font size 14, top and bottom margins of 20 mm, right margin of 15 mm, and left margin of 30 mm.
●The article title should not exceed 10-12 words. The title should be written in uppercase letters (bold font, centered alignment).
●After the article title, on the next line, the author's full name (in bold, italicized, centered) should be indicated.
●The academic degree, academic or honorary title, position, name of the organization, city, and country should be provided (in regular font, centered alignment).
●The abstract in the language of the article (no more than 2000 characters, excluding spaces).
●After the abstract, list 5 keywords (in the language of the article).
●The article text (with a double space after the keywords).
●The list of references (with a double space, formatted according to GOST R 7.0.5-2008). References in the text should be cited in square brackets with the reference number and page. Example: [1, p. 15]. The number of references should be no less than 5.
●Musical keys should be written in Latin letters — C-dur, g-moll; note names should be written in Latin letters in italics — h, G, a2.
Forms of participation — in-person, online.
Deadline for submitting applications and articles: until March 27, 2025.
To participate in the conference, please send the application form (Appendix 1) and the article to the organizing committee's email address: turan.conference@gmail.com. The file name should be formatted as follows: Amirov_Turan.

The organizing committee informs that all materials will undergo a peer-review process. The organizing committee reserves the right to reject materials that do not correspond to the theme of the roundtable. Articles submitted after the specified deadline and/or not formatted according to the requirements (Appendix 2) will not be accepted. Articles will be published in the author’s original version.

Following the conference, a collection of scientific papers will be published in electronic format, which will be available for download from the website turanofficial.com.

All participants whose papers are included in the program will receive certificates and commemorative gifts from the partners.

Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the sending party.
