Currently, «TURAN» has released five CDs: «Turan» (2009), «Er Turan» (2011), «Uly Turan» (2017), «Folk & Symphony» (2021), and «Tamyr» (2024). The ensemble is also the creator of projects such as «Daris», «Folk & Symphony», «Tylsym by Turan», «Bridge of Times» (with A. Raimkulova), and «Tamyr».

«TURAN» has also partnered with international film companies to compose music for series such as «Diriliş Ertuğrul» (dir. Mehmet Günay), «İsimsizler» (dir. Emre Konuk), and «Mendirman Jaloliddin» (dir. Nurgisa Almurat). They have collaborated with world-famous personalities and groups, promoting Kazakh national music abroad.
The ensemble’s formation and professional growth have greatly benefited from the work of Aqtoty Rakhmetollaqyzy Raimkulova, a talented composer, Doctor of Art Criticism (DVA, PhD), Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, and President of the Foundation for Turkic Culture and Heritage. Raimkulova has been instrumental in introducing unprecedented musical directions into Kazakh music by merging Western academic instruments with traditional Kazakh instruments. She has created large symphonic works such as «Dala Syry» (Secrets of the Steppe), «Yezhelgi Turan» (Ancient Turan), «Zhamilya», the ballets «Sounds of Time» and «Kozy Korpesh – Bayan Sulu» as well as innovative compositions like «Bridge of Times» and «Crossroads» which feature Kazakh national instruments alongside the cello and piano.

In collaboration with Turkologist A. Garkavets, Raimkulova and the «TURAN» ensemble also revived an ancient Kipchak musical piece titled «Reminiscens beati sanguinis» based on the Codex Cumanicus, a manuscript discovered in 1303 in Venice's Basilica di San Marco Library. The manuscript, written in the Kipchak language, contains prayers, hymns, and riddles. The ensemble transformed this work into a modern composition, «Kipchak Urany» (Kipchak Battle Cry).
Over the past 15 years, «TURAN» has held nearly 3,000 performances across the globe, with several major solo concerts in Kazakhstan:
In 2008
They held the presentation concert for their first CD «Turan» at the Grand Organ Hall of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory
In 2011

PROJECTS
Daris
The «TURAN» ethno-folk ensemble has been conducting educational concerts since 2008 with the aim of promoting the national art, culture, music, and musical instruments of the Kazakh people. These concerts follow the traditions passed down from our ancestors. The performers share information about the ensemble's unique characteristics, clothing styles, the history and legends of the musical instruments, and they provide insights into each piece of music while performing. They engage the audience effectively, presenting the concert in a relaxed and entertaining style. These educational concerts can be considered an innovation brought by the «TURAN» ensemble to Kazakh musical culture. Currently, there is a high demand for these concerts among the public. To date, the ensemble has given approximately 200 educational concerts, contributing to the development of the national art of the Kazakh people, increasing interest in our national heritage among listeners from both Kazakhstan and abroad, and awakening a sense of nationalism in the youth while enriching their spiritual lives.
Folk & Symphony
«Folk & Symphony» is one of the innovations introduced by the «TURAN» ethno-folk ensemble to the world of music culture. This project originates from the symphonic poem «Dala Syry» specially composed by A. Raimkulova for the «TURAN» ensemble and symphony orchestra. The poem was first presented to the public at the "Young Euro Classic» festival held in 2008 at the Konzerthaus in Berlin. «Folk & Symphony» represents the fusion of Kazakh national music with the art of world classical music. It features a synthesis of ensemble music played on Kazakh national musical instruments with a symphony orchestra, creating a fresh sound. This project continued with A. Raimkulova's symphonic poems such as «Yezhelgi Turan» and «Zhamilya». Additionally, works from the «TURAN» ensemble's repertoire, such as «Er Turan», «Qily zaman», «Uly Turan Mangіlіk», «Qara jorga», «Koroǵly» and others, were arranged for symphony orchestra and officially presented to the public for the first time in 2022 as a CD titled «Folk & Symphony». This project has been performed with renowned chamber and symphony orchestras from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tatarstan, and Israel, showcasing the national music and instruments of the Kazakh people in a new light to the world.
Bridge of Times
This project is based on the piece «Bridge of Times» specially composed by A. Raimkulova for pianist Martha Argerich's competition held in Switzerland. Based on the creative collaboration between A. Raimkulova and the «TURAN» ensemble, this piece has been revitalized and arranged for a new instrumental composition, featuring the «TURAN» ensemble, A. Raimkulova (piano), and cello. As part of this project, a new piece titled «Crossroads» was created, evolving into a new concert project called «Bridge of Times». The concert program features not only the national musical instruments of the Kazakh people but also the piano, cello, and academic vocal art. The «Bridge of Times» project was launched in 2023 within the walls of the R. Baglanova «Qazaqconcert» concert organization. In the lead-up to the 15th anniversary of the «TURAN» ensemble, presentation concerts for the «Bridge of Times» project were held in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and various European countries, including France, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, as well as in Washington, USA, and Lanfang, China.
Tamyr
The «TAMYR» project by the «TURAN» ethno-folk ensemble is a unique phenomenon in the musical culture of the Turkic world. The «TAMYR» project consists of well-known and beloved works, referred to as the pearls of Turkic-speaking peoples, and was created to showcase the uniqueness of Turkic nations while promoting unity and strengthening brotherly relations. Through this project, the «TURAN» ensemble incorporates the music of Turkic-speaking peoples from around the world into its repertoire, performing in its unique style formed in Turkic music culture. The members of the ensemble perform each piece using national musical instruments from various countries, adding a distinctive national flavor to the work. The «TAMYR» project consists of several phases, which are presented as a collection of tunes. Currently, the first collection of this project has been released. The presentation concert for the first collection took place as a concluding event for the «TURAN» ensemble's 15th anniversary at Kazakhstan's largest concert hall, the Republic Palace in Almaty, on February 29. The first collection includes songs such as «Ceddin deden» (Turkiye), «Ai, Lacin» (Azerbaijan), «Kushdepti» (Turkmen), «Tavaszi szel» (Hungary), «Karasu» (Altai), «Dombyra» (Nogai / A. Sultanbekov), «Kirk yigit» (Kyrgyz), and «Kymys yryata» (Yakut).
Tylsym by Turan
This is one of the unique projects introduced by the «TURAN» ensemble. The ensemble members collaborate with the audience to find a common theme, based on which they create musical compositions live on stage. As a result, the public can witness the process of «TURAN» works being born before their eyes, gaining a wealth of information in just one hour, and observing how the events within the theme are expressed through music. «Tylsym by Turan» is an invaluable project for professional and amateur composers, as well as for musicologists and ethnomusicologists interested in ensemble art.
