Shankobyz
The shankobyz is a wind instrument from the Kazakh people, also known as khomus among Turkic peoples. It is made from iron, wood, and bone. The shankobyz consists of two parts: the body and the reed. This instrument was traditionally used by shamans and later became a favorite instrument among girls. Today, it is used as a musical instrument. The "Turan" ensemble employs several types of shankobyz, which are made from iron, steel, and wood. These instruments have come from regions such as Altai, Kyrgyzstan (A. Nasridinov), and Yakutia (M. Malsev).
